Members of the MAOZ network participated in a seminar and tour of Modiin Illit with a team of the Haredi Institute for Public Affairs. Welcoming remarks and the opening address were given by the mayor and board member of the Institute Rabbi Yaakov Gutterman, followed by Vice Chair of the Institute Nitsa (Kaliner) Kasir who presented participants with data concerning the economy of Haredi society. Participants visited employment and training centers for women in the city, as well as the offices of a gemach operating in the city. In his closing remarks, Chairman of the Institute Eli Paley, who is also a board member of MAOZ, spoke about the characteristics of Haredi society, noting that the definition of “Haredi” is “anyone for whom Torah is the central value in life.”
