Friends of the Haredi Institute for Public Affairs and of the Danielle Foundation got together on Tuesday Chol Hamoed Sukkot for an evening of cross-sectoral unity. At the event, hosted by Haredi Institute Board Member Moti Sonnenfeld, guests enjoyed uplifting music and song by Rabbi Hillel Paley and Yonaton and Aaron Razel.
Moti Sonnenfeld and Eli Paley share a passionate desire to bridge chasms in Israeli society, particularly by bringing together secular and Haredi communities. Sonnenfeld’s intersectoral respect is actualized through the Danielle Foundation, which he founded in memory of his daughter Danielle Sonnenfeld a”h, while Paley advances cross-sectoral cooperation via the Haredi Institute for Public Affairs. Sonnenfeld and Paley invited friends from all sectors to enjoy a Sukkot event of harmony – with the multiple meanings of the word.
Special guests included: Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv; Moshe Leon, Mayor of Jerusalem; Dr. Giora Yaron, Chairman of Haredim for High-Tech Forum; Malcolm Hoenlein, Former Executive VC of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; Michael Eisenberg, Haredi Institute Board Member; Prof. Daniel Zajfman, President of Weizmann Institute.
