Following the kickoff event in Caesarea, the Forum’s working committee met at Google’s Headquarters in Tel Aviv. Under Giora’s direction, representatives from high-tech and defense, academia, and government learned about existing training and placement efforts from industry and academia, and received briefs on industry and defense needs and priorities. Members also discussed the need to institute regulatory standards and related KPIs for government funding, which will likely be a component of the plan.
On June 30th, the High-Tech Forum – comprised of stakeholders from the high-tech and defense industries, academia, government, and the Haredi community – convened for an initial evening of learning and discussion at the home of Giora Yaron, Founding Investor at Itamar Technologies and Investments.
A number of partners shared their perspective: Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman, Chief Rabbi of Migdal Emek and Haredi Institute for Public Affairs Advisory Board member; Eugene Kandel, CEO of Start-Up Nation Central; Kobi Richter, Founder of Medinol; Izhar Shay, Prior Managing GP at Canaan Partners; Eyal Waldman, Founder and CEO of Mellanox.
The Second Annual Conference of the Haredi Institute for Public Affairs was centered on bringing to light the Quality of Life among Israel’s Population Groups – a comparitive study conducted at the Institute by Nitsa (Kaliner) Kasir and Dmitri Romanov.
A discussion was held in light of the paper recently published by Prof. Yoram Margalioth and Shlomo Teitelbaum which proposes a new method for taxation and delineate the implications it would have on Haredi households.
